Rock Mice are a subspecies of rats that live and dwell among and inside rocks and ore. They feed on the minerals found on the ore by melting them with their acidic tongues, which is how they spread the Pest on the rocks if they are infected in the first place. Any subject in contact with contaminated ore is likely to develop the Pest symptoms soon after exposure.
